Our
records indicate that there is much more to this particular vagrant
than meets the eye. An American by birth and bomber pilot by
profession, the last reports made by Terran governments concerning
Valentine’s existence read as follows: Valentine, H. Deceased. Aircraft
succumbed to enemy fire over Berlin. Next of kin: None. After cross
referencing this information with records in other databases it was
discovered that in fact Valentine having survived was captured by Nazis
and having sustained heavy head trauma was turned over to the medical
staff of the unnamed prison camp to which he was transported.
Unfortunately for Valentine, the war was soon over and he was taken by
the Soviet occupying forces. Still being unable to communicate due to
his injuries, and being in otherwise healthy physical condition, he was
transferred to a Soviet medical research facility in Siberia. The
project, entitled Lazarus, was one of the notorious super soldier
research projects conducted by the Soviet government at that time. It
is rumored that Valentine was the solitary successful recipient of a
therapy that could remove aging from the human genetic code. Other than
various sightings, near arrests, and the whisperings of dubious sources
little is known of the current activities or whereabouts of this
individual.

This
artifact can only be truly described as such - so little is known about
it. What is known is that what the space bandits 00, 01, and Hugo
Valentine call Ghost Dad the Robot does owe its existence to the
Advanced Weapons Agency of the Interstellar Governance Consortium
(IGC). It is then, supposedly, some sort of weapon. However, its status
as a conventional weapon (laser beam, nova bomb, hunter-seeker, or
other related armaments) is highly questionable and has become only
more so as discoveries pertaining to the device that the band has made
come to light. Its very nickname, "Ghost Dad the Robot", is thought to
be descriptive of the artifact's ability to travel over electricly
conductive materials. While said name and said ability may seem to have
nothing in common, it is likely that criminal 00 bequethed the name as
it reminded him of the Terran comedian Bill Cosby's character "Ghost
Dad", who also possesed the ability to move across vast distances via
telephone wiring.
Exactly what Ghost Dad the Robot is is a very difficult
question to
answer, much less speculate upon. Is it, in fact, a robot, as the
criminals have dubbed it? Possibly, but likely not - at least not in
the strict sense of a purely mechanical entity whose actions are
largely determined by preprogrammed instructions. It is however,
quite possible that GDTR is somewhat based in a mechanical form, but
this could be biomechanical (in which case it could be that GDTR is the
realized product of the IGCAWA's long standing Nanodefense Act). More
concrete data will be uploaded as it becomes available.
